The judo and jiujitsu instructors of Shizen Hontai

All judo and jiujitsu instructors at Shizen Hontai are trained by the Dutch Judo Federation (JBN). You can see their level of training in the role they play on the mat. You can also tell by their belt color or the number of stripes (dan grades) on their black belt.

Our instructors, recognized and certified by the judo federation, regularly attend refresher courses, teacher internships, and exam training. This ensures that the judo and jiujitsu lessons for you and/or your children remain varied, innovative, fun, safe, reliable, up-to-date, and aligned with the various belt (kyu grade) and dan exam requirements.

Dojo assistants

During the judo and/or jiujitsu lessons, you will regularly see young judoka walking around on the mat. These are our dojo assistants (level 1): they support the instructors during the lessons.

We train the dojo assistants ourselves using the available teaching materials from the JBN. After successfully completing a Proof of Competence (PvB), they are recognized by the JBN as certified dojo assistants.
